Welcome to the Red Shoe Life Transformation Blog. Although this Blog can be enjoyed by anyone, it is geared toward women like myself who have crossed over the great divide of 50 years and found they are not enjoying what seems like a slippery slope toward orthopedic hose and Geritol.
I developed this program after waking up one morning and found, to my horror, that my kids were gone. They weren’t kidnapped, just living in their own apartments. I also noticed that I was still driving a mini-van, and that there was certainly more “hip” than “hop” in my wardrobe. My days consisted of 10 hour work days with a hour commute each way. I had no outside interests that I had energy enough to pursue, and after a make-shift dinner, I was off to bed to be able to do it all again the next day.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I ended up as a photo in Wikipedia under “zombie”, and decided to take a good look at myself. I whined a lot about it, but it wasn’t until our dear financial advisor, Marie, started talking about my finances for my upcoming retirement,(This was news to me as I was only 55) that I was catapulted into action. She said, “After all, at your age, you are now considered a “fall risk” and you need to be more careful.” WTH?
So with tears in my eyes and a burning like no other, I went home and developed my plan of attack. What the hell was happening? I was not “old”!! I had always dreamed about all of the fun I would be having when I finally had time, money and freedom to do so, but in reality, I was a mess. Not only would I not be able to Fan Dance with Fabio, Eat, Pray, Love my way through foriegn countries or buy that leopard print cat suit I have envied since my disco days, I wouldn’t even be financially sound enough to live out my days in one of those institutionalized nursing homes. I had been showing senior women how to have their “Optimum Life” for more than 10 years as my career and I didn’t have a clue how to do it for myself. I slowly turned the tables around and began to think about my schemes, devious plots and my plans to rule the world and finally designed this program to begin my own Red Shoe Life Transformation. Ok, maybe I didn’t start out that big, but I have figured the whole thing out and am so excited to tell you about it!

Each week I will talk about some of the six major areas of a Red Shoe Life; Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, Social, Community and Mental as well as take a few punches at relationships, goal setting, wellness and FUN!
